I’m letting myself have one majestic self-portrait before I embrace my middle-aged librarianliness. I have the rest of my life to paint my withered cheeks flapping in the wind.
This was my first time using Arches oil paper, and it’s pretty fantastic. Way less pressure not to screw it up, at about $1.00 per page. And it’s fairly archival. You can always mount them to boards later if you want. If this one turns out really nicely, I might try it again on gessobord, but I like the feel of the paper so far.
