Process
For miniatures and animals/informal portraits, please send 1-4 photos to use for reference. Once all the information is received, miniatures will be completed and shipped within three to four weeks. Animals/portrait paintings will be completed in two to three months. Payments must be received in full before painting is shipped.
For formal portraits, I will first consult with clients to discuss desired themes/subject/setting. Initial sketches are done from life if possible (I will travel to clients in Hawaii), and the painting will be finished in my studio from my own images of the subject. For long-distance clients, we may consult on video to decide on lighting/setting/pose, and the client will provide photos for reference. I am willing to travel at additional expense, if desired. Payment in 2 installations; half at the start, half upon completion. A contract will be provided once everything is decided. Turnaround ranges from two to six months, depending on size/complexity.
Items will be insured for shipping in case of damage.
Miniatures are painting on tiny canvas. All other pieces are painting on linen mounted on aluminum, which is lightweight, archival, and resistant to warping. If another surface is desired, include that in your inquiry.
