Gallery show at the DAC
My first gallery exhibition! Paintings are available for viewing or purchase from December 2nd-January 10th at the Downtown Art Center in Honolulu. I’ll be there in person on Sunday, January 3rd, and Sunday, January 10th. It is staggering to be among so many talented Hawai’i artists. Join us if you can (masks and social distance, open Tuesdays-Sundays).
Back study
I like top-down lighting. Oil on Arches oil paper, 5×7.
African tulip
I jammed the flower onto the broken stem backwards and didn’t notice until after I’d painted the entire thing. Oil on board, 10×10 circle.
Zenny
Never not painting my kids. Oil board, 5×7.
Stupid bananas
I don’t know why, but I don’t like paintings of bananas. Thought painting my own would fix that. It didn’t. Oil on gessobord, 6×6.
Plucky
Still painting my chicken. Oil on board, 5×7.
Dead roses
Sorry, flowers.
Heliconia
These monster flowers scare me a bit, but the colors are nice, and they probably won’t eat your face. oil on birch, 8×11
